Join us for this one off seed saving project - learn about seed saving, growing, eating and growing healthy soil ... curious?
What will you learn?
With spring just around the corner it's the perfect time to learn about our precious seed. With over 75% of the world biodiversity lost in the last 60 years it's more important than ever to cherish our seeds. We'll cover what seeds you can save, when and how to collect them, how to safely store them and finally how to plant them. We will also cover the importance of the
biology of soil, compost and soil aeration. There will be hands on seed processing, demonstrations and even samples to taste and takeaway.
So, if you want to know more about the origin of your fruit and vegetables, then learning about the seed is the first step.
Who will be teaching?
Marco and Tess are founders of Crafty Gatherer, a small business based in the Bay of Plenty making products to help people get back to the land and back to homesteading basics. Everything from beehives to broadforks and clothes dryers to seedling trays. They are passionate about living simply and have a fantastic blog with some great tips on how you can begin to change your lifestyle too.
