Tuesday 30th May
6.30pm - 8.00pm
Join us for this one off project and learn all about the wonderful world of moss, plus create your very own moss terrarium ... curious?
What will you learn?
Moss is one of the oldest known plants on the planet. It has remarkable properties and party tricks which have helped it to adapt and survive for millennia. There are many practical uses for moss, the most obvious being the aesthetic pleasure of looking at it, it's also a great form of air purification.
We'll look at the different types of moss and what they can be used for, followed by a hands on workshop where you will create your very own moss terrarium to take home.
We'll supply everything you need to create your own mini moss world, however if you would like to include a small figurine or other special detail in your terrarium, please bring it along to the class.
Who will be teaching?
This evening of moss glory will be led by Coraleigh who is a moss enthusiast. Even taking it to the extreme of having her own moss brand. Coraleigh specialises in sphagnum moss and has some very interesting projects to share that involve moss. After initially just making homes in old preserving jars for her collection of Wade Whimsies 5 years ago, the demand for terrariums led to the creation of the business Pickled Whimsy. Now focusing on kokedama, a Bonsai ball made of moss, Pickled Whimsy still produces terrariums large and small for customers around the country.
